The rocky song series#
The "Twilight" series has them trying to determine if it is better to pick a wolf or a vampire for a life partner. They have grown up watching vampires and zombies. Today's generation doesn't have the "Rocky" series to pump them up. When I was pregnant with my third child and having heart issues that would lead to her premature birth, I kept repeating the line from one Rocky song, "Burning Heart," that says, "Though his body says stop, his spirit cries 'never.'" My kids have heard that line many times, along with "Don't trade your passion for glory," which I think is one of the best lines from "Eye of the Tiger." So many times they have seen people in their life pursue glory instead of passion and pay a hard price for doing so. I knew exactly what he meant because I knew the Rocky movies backwards and forwards. My brother and I would play football in the backyard with our neighbors and he would tell me to get the "eye of the tiger" before I would go out to catch the next pass. I still have very distinct memories of my dad taking me to see "Rocky 2" and watching not only the power of Rocky's ambition but the love and dedication to his wife as well.
The rocky song how to#
Most people in their 40s and older can quote the lyrics to "Eye of the Tiger" and most of us learned how to play it on an instrument of some kind in middle school or high school. He taught us that no matter how hard it might seem, if we trained and we worked hard enough, our goals were achievable. Rocky taught us how to get up off the ground even if we felt like we couldn't. I can do this because growing up in the 1980s meant we were exposed to five great Rocky movies and most of us saw them all. This is kid is going to be someday better than anybody I ever knew".

"This kid is going to be the best kid in the world.
